Bats For Charity hits it out of the park!
The 10th annual Bats for charity softball tournament came to a close last Sunday July 23rd as The Brewers edged Team Enigma from Brook Park, Pierrefonds.
Set against a weekend of sunny skies, eight teams participated for the love of the game, the commraderie, and the making a difference to the communities which we work and play.
Many hours, many volunteers, and many sponsors are the backbone of such a weekend. Special thanks to the Town of Pierrefonds, Cineplex Odeon, West Island Inflatables (Anne Dionne), Uhaul (Shannon Cater), Dollard-des-Ormeaux Civic Center (Robert Haddock), Avon (Lisane Marchand), Cunningham's pub (Jim Beauchamp), Rolling Tunes (Greg Niggeman) for all their help and collaboration.
A very special thank-you to Linda Noury, the heart and soul of this tournament the past decade. Over $25,000.00 raised going into this year is something to be proud of for the rest of her life.
Mostly, we want to thank all the teams which participated. You had a choice of taking part in other tournaments, but we are so grateful to have your presence.
The final tally yet to be determined, but rest assured, it will go a long way contributing to the less fortunate.
