Wicac comes through for Nova West Island
On Monday March 13, we visited the offices of Nova West Island in Beaconsfield in presenting our annual donation.
Our association dates back 20 years when our charity hit the ground running on Saturday May 9, 1997.
The past 13 years has allowed us to sponsor "Camp Carousel"-Weekend Bereavement Camps for youths ages 6-17 are being held from Friday evening to Sunday noon, twice a year (spring and fall) at Parc Nature du Cap St. Jacques, Pierrefonds. The Youth and children participate in recreational activities, arts and crafts, campfires, small group sessions on grief work and a remembrance ceremony under the guidance of a skilled counselor and specially trained volunteers.
We are honored that $5,000.00 was raised in helping Carol Jonas, program coordinator, achieve goals in running a valued curriculum.
